WARNING: DO NOT DE-REGISTER from DND

Post by Sapna »

With recent action by TRAI to restrict commercial SMS, the fraudulent telemarketers have started another innovative way to trouble people.

Telemarketers are sending fraudulent SMSes to customers registered for DND (Do Not Disturb) on National Customer Preference Register (NCPR) to de-register themselves from the service. They say it's required if they want to receive messages from important service providers like banks, airlines etc.

Please Note: The new TRAI policy will not affect genuine SMS sent from airlines, banks, shopping confirmations etc. All these and many more categories are treated as transactional sms and the new policy is not applicable to them.

If you have not yet registered for National DoNotDisturb registry, DO IT NOW by calling your mobile service provider's customer care.

I got a similar SMS from Letsbuy.com saying I should de-register from DND in order to continue receiving latest deals from them. I DON'T WANT THEIR CRAPPY DEALS MESSAGES
